Eric Berry Youth Football Camp

July 12, 2011  |  Comments Off on Eric Berry Youth Football Camp

On July 9, more than 300 kids came out for our youth football camp, held on the AstroTurf field the Eric Berry Foundation installed at Duncan Park. During the camp, Eric Berry offered advice and expert instruction to local youth interested in growing their football skills. All proceeds from the youth football camp will directly benefit the Eric Berry Foundation. Hope everyone had a great time! Please see below for some media clips from the event.

Thank you to all who came out to our fundraiser at Tongue and Groove nightclub in Atlanta on Sunday night!  It truly was a great night – a time for Eric and me to spend quality time with family and friends of the Eric Berry Foundation.  This event helped the foundation raise funds for upcoming programming activities at Clarence Duncan Park.  We couldn’t have pulled off such a successful event without help from each and every one of you.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions regarding the Eric Berry Foundation.

Hello Everyone! I hope you’ve started 2011 off right and are continuing to meet your goals.

This past week, Eric was added to the roster for the 2011 Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday in Honolulu. We couldn’t be more proud of Eric and his accomplishments during his rookie season with the Kansas City Chiefs.  We look forward to having him in Atlanta for the next couple of months and know that he will be very involved with the Duncan Park refurbishment project while he’s here.

The new AstroTurf field at Duncan Park looks fantastic and the Fairburn Flames youth football program put it to use during their season this fall.  The young players were pumped to play on such a state-of-the-art field!  We hope to begin updating park facilities soon.

The Eric Berry Foundation has many other exciting project and partnership opportunities coming up this year.  We are working to form partnerships in Kansas City and Knoxville.  Please stay tuned, as we hope to have some pretty exciting announcements this spring!

I’ve heard from many of you who are looking for ways to get more involved with the Eric Berry Foundation.  Please “like” our recently-launched Facebook page, which will keep you up to date on current and upcoming projects.  You can also visit the “Donate” page on our website to inquire about volunteer opportunities and purchase gear. All of the proceeds will benefit the Eric Berry Foundation and our various projects.
Thank you for your continued support and feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.

Here’s to a wonderful and productive 2011!

I’d like to take a few moments to thank everyone who came out to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 2.  There was a HUGE turnout in Fairburn – I had to wait in line for over an hour.  I know the lines were out the door at most polling locations all day long.

I’m proud to say that the Fairburn referendum allocating more than $10 million to fund 4 local rebuilding projects passed!  The restoration of Duncan Park is one of these projects, so now the Eric Berry Foundation can really work together with the city of Fairburn and its citizens to make some major changes at Duncan Park.

The refurbishment of Duncan Park will not only affect Fairburn youth but the entire community.  The park offers something for all ages and I hope that it will once again become the focal point of our community.  Duncan Park is a place for our kids to learn to play sports with their friends, while families can attend community gatherings and round tables.  Right now there really is not anything for the masses.  There is nowhere for us to go to host seminars, large events or any community get-togethers.  The restoration the Duncan Park community center will give us the perfect place to host any and all meetings and events.

Thanks again for showing your support for this community and voting yes on the referendum on Nov. 2.  I honestly believe that the refurbishment of Duncan Park, as well as the other three projects included in the referendum, will help bring our community together and build our town into a place we will all be proud to show off to South Fulton and the rest of the state.

We invite you to come out to Duncan Park to watch a Fairburn Flames game on the new football field we’ve recently installed with help from our friends at AstroTurf.  It really is incredible.  Continue to come back to the Eric Berry Foundation website for updates about our projects.  Please feel free to contact us at info@ericberryfoundation.org for more information or with any questions.

You all are the best!

As we progress through our projects, we’ll be making informal updates here, and welcome your feedback and questions as well. This is to be the place where you, the Foundation Supporter, can easily keep track of where your aid is being used. Thank you so much for your support!
